I have just started using Fusion 360 to draw and cut with the ArcDroid/ Powermax 45. I downloaded the Fusion 360 Post Processor. went to cut a simple 8" circle and it doesn’t cut all the way through. Not good at this Cad/setup. Would this parameters be correct, or is it the Arcdroid set up?

What is the material and how thick is it?

Look like you’re a little low on the cut power. Here’s a cut chart for what I believe is the model plasma cutter you’re using.

Did you set up your plasma cutter manually?

What are your settings on the plasma cutter you’re utilizing with the arcdroid? If you refer to the chart I attached above, it guides you to your appropriate settings on the chart for the material thickness you’re cutting.

Where do I apply these settings? I went to the Tool Library in Fusion and created a set up for 3/16” mild steel. Tried to cut with this set up and no change. Is there somewhere else for the set up?

You have to physically adjust the amperage on the powermax and make sure the amps are set to the correct parameters according to the cut chart above. It looks like around 45 amps and 118v. I’d start there.

Setting everything up in Fusion does not control your Arcdroid or plasma cutter. It only makes the Arcdroid cut what is in your program.
The amperage and air pressure has to be set on your cutter and the feed rate, pierce height, cut height, pierce delay, off delay, all have to be set up on the Arcdroid.
I hope this explanation makes sense.
Just keep working on it, it will all come together. It is a learning curve we all have to get through.

Make some sparks!

The Arcdroid is a very versatile machine.
The reason I bought mine was that you didn’t have to know anything about Cad or CNC.
After using it for a little while I saw the potential and started trying to learn more about Cad. I am still in the learning stages of using Inkscape.
If you are knowledgeable about Fusion, then you are light-years ahead of me.
Happy cutting!

Thanks,
Henry George

I would slow down your cutting feed rate some to start, around 110 IPM and adjust the amperage on your plasma cutter to about 45 watts for 3/16, and then you need to make sure your adjust your air pressure to around 3.5 bar or 50 PSI, unless your machine automatically adjusts the PSI as you turn up the cutting amps. Once you get the power bumped up looks like you are well within the range to get a decent cut based on the thickness but you may have to dial in your pierce height if you are getting a dirty pierce.

Thank you all for your assistance, releveled, complete ArcDroid setup and it works!
another question attached is the underside of the cut, is this normal or can parameters

be adjusted to improve the cut?

If it is consistent build up then it is usually cutting speed is too slow.
If it is on one side of a circle only, then it is usually your torch is not square with the work.
Hope this makes sense.

In your earlier cut attempts with the cut not piercing the material you may have also raised hell with the consumables.
It really pays off to experiment cutting. Nothing fancy just a straight line an inch or two long. Keep indexing the material some between cuts like your making comb teeth. Change one variable at a time and note the results. They all interact. Get a notebook and write stuff down. You’ll learn alot. When you learn what works you can make an accurate “cheat sheet” for reference. Different thicknesses and materials all have differing needs. Also keep in mind trying to preserve the consumables and staying within the duty cycle of the cutter and air supply capacity.
