# Hole location accuracy problem

I’m cutting header flanges and am having an issue with the hole locations being up to 0.100" off over the length of the flange. I’ve calibrated but the problem persists.

So are you saying the flange dimensions are ok but the hole locations are off? That seems more like a layout issue to me. Is this with simple trace or are you importing a Cad file?

That’s a good question. I’ll have to check the other features as well. The hole locations are the only thing that jumps out as they don’t line up with the cylinder head. This was created from a CAD generated DXF file run through estlcam. I even changed the cut order so that the bolt holes were done first before the port holes thinking that I was getting material expansion.

so… overall dimension is about 0.025 short. I would say that has to do with kerf as I don’t typically adjust for that. I literally moved the outer holes 0.080" outboard and they now line up with the cylinder head. I’m not sure what’s going on.
