Hi out there.

I’m loading a DXF file and some of the offsets are incorrect. The circular O.D and linear/arc closed loops are correct but circular holes offset on the side to keep. The situation reverses if I change R cut to L cut. Holes are .250", lead-in is .100", kerf is .025". There aren’t too many settings but I must be missing something.

I found an answer:

> [@Edit cut side on imported dxf file](https://forum.arcdroidcnc.com/t/edit-cut-side-on-imported-dxf-file/3446/2):

> @DokHoliday When you Import a .DXF there is a setting for a Global L/C R/C C/C that is applied to all of the lines (don’t forget to add some Lead length) After that you can go into Trace and edit individual curves by zooming in and selectin the cure you want to change (It’ll turn Red) and then select the “Edit” button. You can then flip the L/R cut and change lead for that curve only Cheers AM

…but I’m still having issues. The path matches the DXF when I’m looking at it in Trace. The path goes wrong when I save an go to run, it’s acting like some of the paths are open. I am sure they are all closed because 1) I generated this in SolidWorks which has shading for closed loops, and 2) Everything looks correct in Trace.

This will be my first time cutting with my Arcdroid!

This is what I modeled in SolidWorks:

This is the DXF viewed online. It is all arcs (circles are two arcs) and lines, no splines or anything unusual:

This is the g-code that my Arcdroid generated:

Pretty broken. The g-code seems to break when I edit the side the lead-ins are on. Did I do something wrong?

I can’t help you with CAD, I seem to always spin my wheels and never get it right….
Sure seems like an easy item to layout with SimpleTrace. Draw it on paper. Ref at the center. Outer circle, bolt circle for all the holes. I’d burn a piece of scrap with the Droid to get a segment of the inside diameter circle arc. All your inner cuts are straight lines, pick up the endpoints, trace the arcs with the template you made. Probably take ten minutes to layout.

I really like the Arcdroid and am still happy two years on that I spent the money to buy it ( A decent chunk of change here in Aus for home use ) and it has never missed a beat since I have owned it
Personally myself I find it easier to take a Solidworks generated DXF and then convert it to Gcode in Sheetcam with the post processor. I feel it gives me greater control over cut paths and I have never had an issue. On something like this it would take me about two minutes to generate the g code
Just my two cents worth

Thanks for the replies. It would be optimum if I didn’t have to resort to workarounds but I’ll do what I have to I guess. From what I see, its a bug in SimpleTrace that ideally should be fixed.
