Hi all - I am the Secretary of a Men’s Shed in Queensland, Aus (if you’re not familiar with Men’s Sheds and are interested, do a Google search) and was recently asked to help with our Arcdroid unit which has been in use for the best part of 1 year. It had started to miss sections while cutting - The ‘droid was/is coupled to a UNIMIG Viper Mk11 and it didn’t take me long to discover that the UNIMIG has a 20:1 divider and so put out about 5V to the ‘droid instead of 2V. I modified the cutter to provide 50:1 division and we tested the setup - it still missed about 50mm at the start - movement started before the arc was established. The pierce delay was set at 1 sec - As a test, it was increased to 3 secs (I know-its a lot) and bingo off it went - It didn’t ‘appear’ to wait 3 secs at all, but the cutting proceeded normally from there-on. My suspicion is that the long use on 5V may have damaged some circuitry so I’m after some feedback - We haven’t yet tried dropping the pierce time back down again but will do so. I also looked for sources of spare parts (control boards) but wasn’t able to find any - are they available?? And finally - I saw this from another Aussie newcomer post: ”_Have sent an email with my serial number to info regarding unlocking thc yesterday but still waiting for a reply_.” What does this mean?? do we have to apply for access to the THC ??? Pardon my ignorance - I’m not the operator of the unit - just called on to help fix it. Cheers
