Reduce z-clear height issues

Droid was working fine for a while and now suddenly I keep getting a reduce z-clear height issue with anything I do. The tourch has a squeak when it comes up just before it reaches the top. This is a new issue and noise for me. Been looking around but remedies don’t seem to match or work. Changing the clear z does not work neither does staring close to the plate as some have suggested. Thanks for any assistance.

Does the Z home out ok?

Continuing the discussion from Reduce z-clear height issues:

An interesting thing occurred in my quest to solve this issue. I feed the instructions for my plasma cutter, air compressor and Arcdroid into Antrhopic and I worked on a script for it to assist me. It help me to find the issue and tune all three to help me make my first cut come out well. It was not perfect but it did well. It also had access to some other resources in the internet and here is what I needed to do and what I was doing wrong.

  1. The units were changing when I was moving from Estlcam to the Arcdroid. Estlcam was changing the units and even when I would put them in manually it would change them.
  2. It recommended changes to my two compressors to increase the CFM by putting them in parallel for greater volume and power.
  3. It created a chart for the recommended settings for compressors, plasma cutter and Arcdroid
  4. Based on a previous entry from someone with a similar torch, it make a recommendation to change the way I had it seated and to use the 2 hex screws behind the dovetail to up the dovetail to get the best height.

*** Maybe this will help help someone new to this like me.

Thank you, I found that the changes were being made by the file I was bringing in to Arcdroid. I have made changes so that the correct values are created in Estlcam before they come in. This allows for the Z to be correct.
