How to make a skip cut

I’m having a hard time making a skip cut…essentially one cut along a line that starts and stops to make a bend on a piece of plate. I want to program AD to start and stop without having to program each cut. Any ideas?? Here’s a drawing..

Pattern a simple straight line as many times as needed ?

It’s six clicks of the stylus….. start and stop points of each segment. Have your elements open and select line. Use a straight edge or punch in the coordinates you want. Pretty easy layout done on the screen.

Depending on your material thickness you made need more than the kerf cut to get a good bend. Make skinny rectangles, either square or rounded ends.

THANKS Bob…The material is thin, 11ga black sheet. I finally got it to go, worked out fine, it was a PITA but I stuck with it…LOL Sure wish I had a sheet metal brake! I still had to hit the skips with a torch.

I tried everything but just wasn’t getting a “skip cut” like I wanted. What I finally did was…click the start, click the end and hit save… click start, click the end and hit save…all the way to the end. Then hit RUN and it cut fine.

I sure love this machine but programming can be daunting at times…

Thanks again!

Some of these things are very trivial to program in cad software if you ever care to learn some. Just depends on your needs overall.
