I was on of the unfortunate ones and received a bad part on the z axis for the droid and was able to get it fix and replace. Thank you @Andrew for the new part and it is working a 100% better.

plate is the new one?
The smaller of the 2 is the new one that went in
what was the symptoms as mine is very jerky in the calibration proses it took numerous
attempts to get it.
@Denali10 my problem was at the top of the z axis and it also felt like it didnt have enough power to lift the torch up.
