I received the plus controller. I updated firmware and installed program in the plus controller in stand a lone mode. Can’t get communication between the two. Tried different cable. Anyone else had this issue?
I recall there were notes about needing to update the CNC portion as well. I have also seen that a few users who have had their ARCDroid for a very long time needed an updated main board.
If you still have your old controller try updating the CNC unit to the latest version and then retry the Plus Controller. You do not have to have the old controller but it would allow you to check the version before and after.
If you have an early droid you need to upgrade the motherboard in the base and the comms board of the original controller (if you still want to use it) in order to communicate with the Plus controller. Contact Andrew and he’ll set you up. There was no fee.
They are checking my serial number and will be sending a mother board. Thanks for the replies.
@BobD When you state “upgrade the motherboard” are you referring to the Power PCB plug-in?
Or do you mean a whole new motherboard? I’m having the same problem you and @mbparks did a few months ago on the Plus. The NEW ArcDroid PLUS controller - #35 by Andrew
Also, what did you receive/install to upgrade the original controller?
Thanks, Bob ![]()
Yes, the entire motherboard was changed. The early version Droid has non compatible LAN comm chipset for the Plus. The early controller gets updated too, new black panel/pcb installed so you can still use it with the new motherboard. Got the two boards and allen wrenches in the upgrade kit.
You also still need the plug in power upgrade module. I believe this was sent out to every plus purchaser already.
Awesome! Thanks BobD. Have a Happy 250th Fourth!!!

Yes, it requires a complete new motherboard. It arrived yesterday, should get it in this weekend.
