Cant get machine calibrated

Have had machine 1 month, built table, set it up, calibrated it. Cut 4 feet for table trying to fine tune. Got it done with right by the 3 foot. Had to remove torch form cradle, so I re calibrated it, (or at least I have tried to. 20 times, (bad calibration) Next day 15-20 times, no better. Today 9 hours, watched videos, read posts, asked AI, Downloaded latest software. Went back to default settings. Tried calibration with pointer only, Tried with torch only. Tried prob then torch, tried torch then prob. Changed to a different plaz with different torch! Every time I get “Bad calibration” !!! Anything else to try?

Machine and triangle need to be level with the triangle firmly in the locating detents at the base of the machine and absolutely secured against moving. Make sure that only the calibration sled is plugged into the machine for the whole process and follow instructions carefully. I like to move the sled a bit slower than instructional videos show, and I like to guide the sled with my right hand and assist the machine tooling with my left. Aside from all this and everything you stated, I really can’t imagine what else assuming there isn’t a hardware problem. For cases like yours, the best thing you could possibly do is post a video showing your process and putting up a link on this forum to take us there.

Ummm do you have your X2 connected? You won’t get a good calibration with X2 attached.

Yes I tried very very slow, very slow, slow, and even a bit faster than slow. I noticed just about every time doing #1 i get all (look to be good numbers) WITH NO - Signs, #2 get a few - signs, and most of the time #3 gets - signs, a couple times it didn’t on #3. I just read the next post down about having X2 hooked up and i do. So I will un hook it and try again. Thanks for the info!

A friend of mine said he checked the triangle and it was out so had to calibrate that before he used it to calibrate :frowning:

I calibrated mine just a couple weeks ago. Same issue: bad calibration over and over.

I installed the usb drive and tried again and it worked for me. And has worked each time since.

well I followed advice above, un hooked x2, made sure everything was square and level, (again and was still good) went very, very, very, very slow (maybe 2” a min tops) watching the screen and this time I didn’t get any - signs, and it worked! So I don’t know what fixed the problem, X2 or the super slow motion! But thanks all!
