Controller+ Torch Calibration issues

Reporting my findings. New controller arrived along with a new torch so installed everything just fine until I tried to calibrate the new torch with the new controller plus

All seemed fine but at computing results it would always give a BAD calibration error of around 1.0. I redid the tests three times. Same result.

I then plugged in the original controller and did the calibration and it passed first time error of approx 0.5

i did notice the numbers were different for each controller New would be 19-24 and on original it would be 18.5-20. everything else was the same. The shuttle had no play. Triangle clamped.

My old torch clamping diameter was 33mm new torch is 40mm. if that has anything to do with it.

Have you updated to the latest version of Simpletrace for you r PLUS controller?

We found a bug inthe way PLUS was sometimes handling default values a few weeks back and have fixed that.

But for refernce you do Not have to recalibrate when you move from Classic controller to Plus as the calibration values are stored Machine side

hH Andrew,

yes I updated the simple Trace to the latest June version.

I only did the recall because I had a new torch with a different case diameter.

The values position numbers showing up on the screen seemed more random on the plus over the original controller.

hmm odd

Second question. You are not calibrating with X2 connected are you?

No I don’t have an X2 - just a basic machine.
