The New Compatible Plasma Cutter List

Old miller spectrum 701 works, just tried it tonight!

hey guys - i have a powermax 30 air - does anyone know what has to be done to make it work with this cnc?

I do too and have been searching youtube to see if any videos were out there using it with the Arcdroid. No luck yet, since it’s listed as compatible, I imagine (hope) it’s the same process of hacking the torch as with the 30xp. You take the plunge first and let me know, lol, but seriously, I’m itching to get one.

Sorry, Double posted

This is WHY i hesitate on the purchase of “these” items - i dont need a project for a tool - the company should at lease lead us in the right direction OR have compatible items they tested with with instructions - might as well get the small languimere - slightly lower cost, bigger volume and if i get their recommended torch - done! Dont want to take apart and play with my powermax - my luck i will kill myself and it will HURT until i die!

Hey guys.
Yup PowerMax 30 is compatible. A bunch of customers are already using it.

Same procedure as any non CNC port plasma. Check our YouTube channel for quick overview of how to do it

@arp3van1 We have endeavored to make the ArcDroid as agnostic as possible to the plasma cutter as everyone has a different set up. For the record the process would be exactly the same setting up a Langmuir to work with the PowerMax 30

I’m gonna stick with ArcDroid, its compact and portable plus tracing is a big plus for me without the need for an external PC. Either way the torch has to be hacked on the 30 Air. I’m sticking with Hypertherm too!

I guess it all depends on your needs and your experience with CAD, if I mess up I can always buy a replacement torch.

My money will for now go to ArcDroid when I can afford the additional customs duties etc that I will have to pay to my country.

good point - but - no water table etc… tracing is big but can be done in any cad - import image and trace over lines - little more learning - etc… either way: 1. smaller envelope, no water table - but has trace function - tough choice here

ArcDroid seems very straightforward to me, but still we should all eventually learn CAD for the future, which the ArcDroid accepts.

The downside is the cut size but that really depends on your end goal, it may or may not suffice.

You can always build/buy or adapt something for a water table and a cutting area. I found a very simple design that quite honestly you can build yourself using the 30 Air and adapt an undermount metal kitchen sink (use it like a drawer) to hold the water, drain it and catch the cuts. Maybe @Andrew or another user can someday, design the bracket/brace and provide the same in the proper format for anyone to cut and build whatever size cutting platform they want, it could help with sales!

All credit goes to Hare&Forbes on their simple design below

anybody has any experience with thermal dynamics cut master 39?

In response to what Andrew said to go look for regarding connecting to non-cnc plasma:

So Rico, did it work with the “30 AIR”? Thanks.

I have yet to buy one @dafbush so can’t say if it will or won’t. Besides money, my only hangup with the 30 Air is whether or not the built in compressor will keep up with any cuts, otherwise it will be an ornament until I could buy a 45xp, compressor etc. Hoping to have an answer soon for you and others.

everlast isnt it a HF plasma?

No. It’s blow back as far as I know.

Has anyone tried the Tooliom 50A Non High Frequency Plasma Cutter?

Did it work well together and is there anything specific you have to do to get them to work together?

I think one could add the ‘Everlast 25i’ to the list. I tested mine last evening and it worked perfect. Just needed to run wires to the switch control, and it worked perfect the first time I tried it. Like all the Everlast units, it uses a blowback start so no HF.

Does anyone currently use the Hypertherm 30 air plasma cutter ?
