My water table build. Water from the top tank drains into the bottom tank through a 2" pipe. The bottom tank has a bleed-off valve to allow the air to vent while draining.
When it’s time to fill the table back up, I hook compressed air to the bottom tank which forces the water back up through the same 2" pipe used for draining. Super simple concept that works great for controlling the water level.
The water bed itself holds 31 gallons and the lower tank holds 38 gallons. I purposely oversized the lower tank so there’s always about 2–3 inches of water left in the bottom tank to prevent air from coming up the drain/fill pipe.
It only takes around 1–3 PSI to raise the water level and it fills fast. The air pressure is controlled with a regulator on the tank. If you crank the pressure too high, it turns into a geyser in your garage… don’t ask me how I know.
Questions are welcome.
