X2 mounted on a gantry

I have been using my Arcdroid for over three years and love it. We use it mainly for prototyping and small batch work, but have an issue when using full sheets that to advance further down the sheet, we have to cut the sheet. We are thinking of mounting the Arcdroid on the X2 platform then mounting the X2 to a gantry over a 8 by 4 foot table to carry a full sheet. We can then advance the gantry down the sheet as required and even pick at small uncut pieces amongst the larger cuts to save on material. Has anyone done this? Will the torch be too high above the material to reach without the torch hitting the frame when homing? We mainly cut only light material max 1/4” thick.
