Arcdroid Rebooting before or after a cut

Running Simple Trace ppr-2025-11c.

I am having an issue with the machine rebooting. Screen will shut down, turn red and display the simple trace version. Then switch to black saying updating resources. Then Arcdroid logo and back to the home screen. Seems to be random if it reboots before or after a cut. The Micro SD is not installed. I saw another post about that being a problem. Not in this case.

Machine has been running fine for months. Only just started this about 5 cuts ago. Cord is protected with no visible damage. The plasma machine has not been moved. Everything is how it has been since new.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Just an update. I checked for new updates and installed those.

Same issue.

But I may have found the culprit. I have been building files on QCAD/CAM. I have dozens so far and all have worked flawlessly. This last one I made is around when I noticed the problem. I just did a little lest and used an old file I made and it worked fine for 6 cuts. Swapped to this problem file and the first cut when finished, rebooted the system. Swapped to another old file, no problems. It must be in this last one I made. Maybe a mis input on my end, or an issue during export.

I am going to make a couple files over the weekend to test out Monday. I will post back with any findings.

Another update.

I made another 4 files which each contain over a dozen start and stops. So far, I have not been able to replicate the problem. I checked the configuration on my cad program, and it all looks good. I am going to keep trying things this week to see if I can pinpoint why this is happening.

I will update with my findings.

Looks to be solved.

After numerous testing of different files and different computers to make files. I tried with another plasma cutter. Problem seems to be fixed. The machine was a Lincoln Pro Cut 80. The instructions for the machine state

“The PRO-CUT 80 employs a touch start mechanism for arc initiation. This eliminates high frequency emissions from the machine as compared with spark gap and solid state type high frequency generators. Keep in mind, though, that these machines may be used in an environment where other high frequency generating machines are operating.”

Which to me means the machine is not high frequency. But I can also see how it could mean it is high frequency, using a different mechanism to help with high frequency problems. With that said, the arcdroid is acting like it is. I have had the machine hooked up for about 6 months making hundreds of cuts without issue.

I swapped the machine with my Hypertherm 45xp. I had 4 cuts of the problem file in a row without issue. I couldn’t get one with the Lincoln. I will be doing many more cuts shortly to see if I have any further issues.

So for now, Problem solved.
