Hi all I have a razorcut 80 on my arcdroid and noticed that when trying to cut 180mm 167mm hole and 116mm holes they are not circle but just off , we are only talking about 3mm more in one direction compaired to the correct diam in the other, I figured this small but important discrepancy was due to it needing a recalibration ( the calibration i was on was seeing 313.26mm on one plane for the triangle and 313.8 in the other), after rerunning the calibration on a lvl platform with brand new unused consumables 8 times now I cannot get better than 312.2 in one direction and 308.6 in the x measured from the nipples using the torch (new consumable) . the nipples measure 313 by actually measuring them with a ruler
the torch is lvl and square to the work piece the droid has been lvled with the table and the top that the triangle sits on , what should I try to fix this? will restoring factory defaults help ? any ideas would be very good as i have made things so much worse by recalibrating
Thanks Bobd, After the factory defaults being put back and yet another recalibration being done to Completion and saved with good result, it is still badly out on the checking of the triangle measurment ? alone
side 1 of triangle have an X of-0,75 Y of -308.25 z0 and F 130,
side 2 is . X -312.30 , Y6.20, Z of 0 F of 130,
Side 3 is , X 311 Y 314.35 Z 0 , F130 have included pics below
this is very frustraiting because it was working and calibrated significantly better untill i tryed to improve on it
What did the numbers look like on the stylus portion of the calibration? The Droid and triangle are both secured in place? Have good pressure downward on the Z? No tugging of the arm by the torch lead as your guiding it around the triangle? Sometimes it helps to space the triangle out from the Droid’s base by an inch.
Hi and thanks Sorry was a late night in the shop yesterday,
SO the stylus numbers were better but not great still off on both ends At this point I turned off the droid and did some welding work.
After cooling off I went back to the droid opened the side cover to check if any grub screws had come loose which they had not I alsdo gave the belts a little tweak which the upper belt was a little looser so got a bit more of a turn on the screw , then I redid the calibration after another reset and after the torch section of the calibration and a save the numbers still had not improved by much . I tried switching back to the stylus at this point and the numbers were much better on the stylus but still out on the torch plugging the stylus back in the numbers were about 1.25 to 0 off from the 313, i unplugged the stylus and did a home , popped the torch back on and the numbers were the same 1.25 and 0 from being correct. (X = 0.35 Y=-311.75 & X = -313 Y= 1.05 )
Now i have absolutely no idea how this corrected the numbers unless it requires a home to reset it after the stylus has been on ? but I will take it and never ever calibrate again lol.
my circles are now 1mm out on one edge of the circle which is annoying especially on a circle of 166mm 6.5 inches there abouts. if anyone out there can tell me how to fine tune with out calibrating it I am very keen to hear
