Water Table build

6mo

Finally got the water table built this weekend from an old aluminum tray bin thing. The whole slat rack can lift out for cleaning and plenty of repositioning slots for the slats. I ran out of 2" flat bar but, this is the basic setup. Plenty deep so nothing will splash on the arcdroid. Even with just an inch of water it cuts down on the dust a lot. Next will be a permenant stand for all of it.

If anyone’s interested, I put together a video of the water table build, which is mostly me butchering some aluminum and laying down some garbage tig welds  Some day I’ll get good at this.

Got the platform done to attach the Droid to the table. Worked out better than I thought, got it sloped back just the right amount so the arm moves flat across the material as it extends. Still a little bracing to do on the table. Got the wheels on last night. Getting closer to paint…

Finally got the stand finished and painted a few weekends ago.

Then I made a small swivel boom to keep the torch lead up out of the way. This as the test run. It is finished, painted and lead attaqched now but didn’t get a pic of that.

Just have to decide what I want for a holder for the controller. In the mean time, I had a chance this last week to really dial in the settings on the droid and my cut file settings. Getting some really nice cuts at higher speeds now. Lots of cut video and pics to share in the coming days and weeks. Cheers!

Final parts done!

I’m kind of impressed that this one worked out. Got a deal on a computer monitor mount, made a holder for the control unit and 3D printed some flexible corner protectors to grip it.

@ANDREW Miller haha Far be it from me to go overboard putting something like this together. :triumph:
But I will say, it’s super quick and easy to throw some steel on there and have something cut now.
