Water table elevator

A few pictures of my cutting table. I have added a simple actuator to be able to cut profiles, I had the linear guides lying around from a previous project

Great idea, I have been rolling this same concept around in my feeble mind.
I have an old hydraulic die table sitting around and was thinking about using it to raise and lower my water table.
My biggest concern is, how level it will stay?

Level stability is a matter of good quality linear rails and stiffness.

I was referring to my old die table, I am sure your setup will be fine.
I have had the occasion or two that it would have been really nice to be able to cut something that was taller than 1".

I have my table set up where I can remove the slats and use 1/4 in flats clamped to the bottom of my table giving me an extra 3 inches of free space.

I had a similar idea and really like how you made this work, Thorped, thanks for sharing. Would you mind sharing the specs on the actuator and guides you used?
