New unit is a couple of weeks away and I am designing a table. I know the unit produces an arc outside of the specified window and I know that at the extremes the tolerance drops, but I am going to build a table so would like to maximise the cutting area for the very rare occasion that I may (might never use it) take it to its maximum capabilities
is anyone able to either specify sizes or do a trace of the full arm extended

Physically moving the arm around, 20"x36" is limit at the torch center. You can’t get everywhere in that rectangle and the machine is not going to power itself into all that area either. My grate area is 19"x31" and happy with that. It depends too on how big of sheets you want to handle. Bigger sheets, bigger table and move the droid around to work it.
The most important thing is the top has to be flat as possible. Any twist is a battle. Merit to bolting frame work together as it lets you get the twist out. Rigid welded and it has a twist…
I started with a $99 Northern Tool plasma cutting table. Pretty cheesy but with some mods and droid mounting pad outboard of the table its working pretty well. Did put some old iron sash weights on the front lower cross brace to counter balance the droid. Really just safety factor if the empty table got bumped really hard.

I used the Northern Tool table too. About the perfect size. I added a expanded metal shelf down low where the leg braces go, that got rid of it being top heavy.
Only problem is the slats bow too much so you can’t align the 'Droid off of them. I have to lay down a piece of 3/16" plate and run the alignment off of it.

I am not a fan of the idea of building the smallest table possible. There are some benefits to having room to maneuver sheets around. Also, square is not always best. Some of my cuts have angled sides and it is easier to be able to rotate the sheet a bit, so the next cut makes best use of the material.
